The best way to get to the Harry Potter studios for free is by taking the blue (Victoria) or the black (Northern) subway line to Euston station.
At this station you can buy tickets for the West Midlands Trains train that will take you in less than 20 minutes to the Watford Junction stop. When buying tickets you have to take into account that if you have the Travelcard transport card it is advisable to go to the ticket office, since there you will be deducted the amount of the areas that this card includes.
If you don't have it, you can buy the tickets directly at the automatic vending machines.
