Tour the Roads of Ronda of the Costa Brava It is one of the best ways to know this beautiful area of the coast of the province of Girona. During its almost 130 kilometers of trails that line the Costa Brava, ranging from the towns of Blanes to Portbou, you will find stretches with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, vertigo cliffs, fishing villages, archaeological ruins, lighthouses, wild vegetation, towers of defense and hidden coves of crystalline waters, which we are sure, will make you fall in love with this area of the world.
These Caminos de Ronda, trails that were created to monitor smuggling by sea and so that fishermen could move between the coves, today they have been kept cared for and accessible to everyone, making them one of the icons of the Costa Brava.
Depending on the stretch of Camino de Ronda you want to do, it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes, a cap and water, since there are some that take you from one town to another, but without going through places where you can buy and among which you can move by public transport and others that, simply, they will end up in a lonely cove or in a lighthouse, after passing through spectacular landscapes.
Contrary to what may seem at first glance, there are Roads of Ronda accessible to everyone. Some of them you can travel in less than an hour, through an easy terrain and others that you have to be in good physical shape to travel them, since they have strong slopes and some sections of different difficulties, which can take you up to a day complete them So in summary, we could say that there is a Camino de Ronda for each of us.
Based on our experience on the Costa Brava, our current place of residence, we have made a list of those that are for us 5 Roads of Ronda of the Costa Brava more beautiful. We start!

1. Roads of Ronda de Lloret de Mar

In Lloret de Mar there are two Caminos de Ronda that will delight all those who visit this tourist town of the Costa Brava. These short trails are characterized by transparent water coves, pine and shrub vegetation, and vertical rock wall cliffs.
Our favorite is the one that starts at the beautiful Sa Caleta, one of the best beaches in Lloret de Mar, where you can enjoy the image of its fishing and recreation boats on the sand, at the foot of the photogenic Castillo d'en Plaja
The road starts around the castle to Cala dels Frares, a cove with a small islet on the water, which is perfect for watching the sunset and snorkeling. From here the road continues up some steep stairs that will take you to the top of the cliffs, from where you can enjoy a walk with panoramic views of the sea until you reach the beautiful Cala Trons, another perfect point to relax and take a bath before continuing the tour.
From here you can continue the Camino de Ronda to Punta dels Cabdells, a route that in total will not take you more than half an hour, not counting the stops, which we know you will not be able to resist, in its magnificent coves.

From the southern end of the promenade of Lloret de Mar, another of the Most beautiful roads of the Costa Brava, which will take you to the nearby Cala Banys, passing through one of the best viewpoints in the city, where the Marinera Dona is located.
Cala Banys, one of the essential places to see in Lloret de Mar, is a rock and deep water cove, perfect for snorkeling and having a cocktail on the terrace of the magnificent Cala Banys Bar, especially at sunset, when the views are incredible.
You can continue the route up to San Juan Castle and down to Fenals Beach, two places with which you will have a complete itinerary.

2. From Sant Feliu de Guíxols to S'Agaró, one of the most beautiful Roads of Ronda of the Costa Brava

One of the Roads of Ronda of the most beautiful Costa Brava and care is, without any doubt, the one that goes from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to S'Agaró. This elegant Camino de Ronda that borders stately homes and luxurious urbanizations on the seafront, you can start traveling in Cala Jonca or reduce it a few kilometers starting at the beach of Sant Pol, in Sant Feliu de Guíxols.
Very close to Cala Jonca is Cala el Molí, where there is a via ferrata between cliffs and some stretch above the sea, also highly recommended if you like this discipline.

Cala Ametller and Cala Maset are two tiny coves of turquoise waters that will surprise you before arriving at the large beach of Sant Pol and where you can take advantage to cool off during the tour. In the last section, our favorite, you will stroll through fantastic modernist houses, terraces, monuments and tunnels, which the neighbors next to the town hall take care to keep it beautiful, highlighting the viewpoints such as Punta d'en Pau and the coves such as Cala Pedrosa, which they follow each other between the rock cliffs, until they reach the beach of Sa Conca.

3. From Cala Sa Tuna in Begur to Racó Beach in Pals

As we always recommend, one of the best things to do in Girona is to visit one of the Roads of Ronda and finish with a refreshing swim in a small cove with transparent waters.
During the road that goes from the beach of Pals to the Cala Sa Tuna in Begur, in a journey of 8 kilometers and lasting about 2 hours, you can enjoy some of the best coves and beaches of the Costa Brava, such as those of l'Illa Roja, Sa Riera, Aiguafreda or Sa Tuna, true wonders of nature.

This Camino de Ronda can be started at the Sa Tuna de Begur cove, which has parking and that will take you through the landscape surrounded by greenery, overlooking the sea and the Medes Islands, also passing through the Aiguafreda coves , Sa Riera and bordering, on the top, the spectacular Illa Roja, one of our favorite coves, to finish at the Racó de Pals beach.
If you do not have much time you can divide this Round road of the Costa Brava in two, the one that goes from Cala Sa Tuna to Aiguafreda and the one that goes from the beach of Racó de Pals to Sa Riera.

4. Roads of Ronda de Cadaqués

Cadaqués, besides being, according to our criteria, the most beautiful town in Catalonia, has some of the best roads in Ronda de la Costa Brava. The old road that goes from Cadaqués to the Cap de Creus Lighthouse, due to its Natural Park, is a marvel of 8 kilometers that ends in one of the best viewpoints in Catalonia, next to the lighthouse.
During the trail, which is well signposted, it is advisable to bring water and comfortable shoes, to enjoy places like the Salvador Dalí house-museum in Port Lligat, solitary coves such as Cala Jugadora and Cala Bona, where you can also see Impossible rock formations as a result of the strong erosion of wind and sea.

The other Camino de Ronda will take you to the lighthouse of Cala Nans, leaving at the southern end of Cadaqués. The journey, about 4 kilometers, you can start by crossing the beautiful promenade of the town to the Sa Conca beach, from there to face a steep climb that will allow you to enjoy the best panoramic view of the white houses of Cadaqués. Once up, the road continues until leaving the residential area to approach the coast of steep cliffs and hidden coves.

Cala Nans Lighthouse

The last section that will lead you to the lighthouse, is simply spectacular, as well as not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo, which highlights the Sa Sabolla cove and the views from the Cala Nans Lighthouse, which will put the icing on the cake.

5. From Calella de Palafrugell to Llafranc

In Calella de Palafrugell, one of the most beautiful villages of Girona and that you have to see in Catalonia, one of the Roads of Ronda of the Costa Brava We have done more times.
Just by visiting this town, which preserves its past and marine charm in the old town, with its white houses, narrow streets and boats resting in the sand, is it worth it to get here.
The Camino de Ronda of 1.5 kilometers that unites this population with the coastal town of Llafranc, is one of the simplest and suitable for all types of public and all physical conditions. During the 20 minutes of the walk, along a wide path, you will enjoy the green of the pines on one side and the blue of the sea on the other, giving you one of the most beautiful images of this area.

Round road from Calella de Palafrugell to LLafranc

We recommend starting the route on foot crossing the arches and dodging the chairs of the terraces of Cala Port Bo in Calella de Palafrugell, to reach inside the town or along the coast to Canadell beach. After about 20 minutes you will reach some stairs that will take you to the coastal town of Llafranc, another essential area.
A good option to extend the route is to continue to the Lighthouse of Sant Sebastiá, a journey that will take you half an hour and from which you will enjoy magnificent views of the Costa Brava.
