There are many things what to visit in Dublin, a city open to the world and that receives you with open arms. 1. Trinity College

Trinity College is the oldest university in Ireland and one of the places what to visit in Dublin essential. Founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592, in addition to its extensive campus, it impresses mostly with its library. The long main hall of the library with its wooden shelves full of books and manuscripts from all eras is a wonder, although the most precious jewel of the building is the Book of Kells of the ninth century, made by Celtic monks and containing the 4 New Testament Gospels

2. Temple Bar

Having a pint of black or blonde beer in one of the Temple Bar taverns is one of the best things to do in Dublin.
Temple Bar is one of the oldest, classic and most atmospheric neighborhoods, especially when sunset arrives in Dublin. Its narrow streets full of historic pubs, where you can listen to live music, make it one of the most visited places in the city.

3. Grafton Street

Grafton Street is one of Dublin's most famous streets, along with O'Connell Street and one of the best places to visit in Dublin. This pedestrian street located right in the center between Saint Stephen's Green Park and Trinity College, is perfect for shopping and seeing street performers.
On the street there are also several historic pubs and cafes and on Sundays you can also find several flower stands, giving the place a more special atmosphere.
A famous place on the street is the bronze statue of Molly Mallon, a street vendor who pushes a car of fish and seafood. From what we have read, due to some works the statue has been provisionally transferred to Suffolk Street 100 meters from its original location, something to consider if you are now traveling to Dublin.

4. Saint Stephen's Green Park

Dublin has several beautiful parks, although we, if we had to stay with one, would choose the Saint Stephen's Green park, located at the beginning of Grafton Street that allows you to disconnect from the city, relax or have a picnic.
Victorian style has a beautiful lake full of swans, ducks and seagulls. In summer if you are lucky you can see some outdoor theater play.
Very close to Saint Stephen's Green is the Merrion Square Park surrounded by historic houses and with the famous Oscar Wilde sculpture in one of its corners.

5. Guinness Storehouse, one of the best places to visit in Dublin

Guinness Storehouse, the Guinness beer factory and warehouse, is another place you have to see in Dublin. In this temple for beer lovers, you can learn all the steps for making their famous world-famous black beer. The tour of the building runs through its 7 floors and in the last one is the Gravity Bar, where you can have a pint of very fresh black beer, with one of the best views of Dublin.
Visiting hours: every day from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. July and August from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

6. St. Patrick's Cathedral

St. Patrick's Cathedral is the largest church in Ireland and is dedicated to the patron of Ireland. Its origins date back to the fifth century when there was a small wooden church that centuries later became a larger stone one. The Gothic church with a large bell tower stands out for its ornate interior, full of sculptures and decorations. It is worth stopping at the baptismal font, which is preserved from medieval times.

7. O'Connell Street

O'Connell is the main street and another one of the essentials to visit in Dublin. It is one of the widest avenues in Europe and is always full of people, whether buying or going to work. On the avenue there are several important statues, among them the one of the nationalist leader Daniel O'Connell, who gives name to the street.
The Post Office of 1818 is another place worth knowing, although the most famous monument is The Spire, a 120 meter high spire, which you cannot miss.

8. Dublin Castle

This castle, which has also been a royal residence, military fortress and seat of the Irish Court of Justice and from which the English administered Ireland during their occupation, is another of the visits that you cannot miss.

9. Christ Church Cathedral

The Christ Church Cathedral or the Holy Trinity is one of the most important in Dublin, along with the Cathedral of St. Patrick and the oldest. This Protestant cathedral was built in 1028 by a Viking king and over time it has been restored and expanded. Its exterior is very beautiful with a small bridge, it is also worth visiting its interior with the chapel of San Laurence O'Toole and especially the impressive crypt of the 12th century.

10. Kilmainham Jail

Kilmainham prison was one of the best visits in Dublin that we remember. It is a symbolic place with a lot of history in which many of its prisoners fought for the independence of Ireland from the United Kingdom. The visit to the interior is guided and its narrow passages full of cells are crossed. One of the most prominent places is the great room in which the famous film was filmed “In the name of the Father”Played by the great Daniel Day-Lewis. The visit ends in the courtyard, where several revolutionary leaders were executed.
The prison is a little far from the center, although it can be easily reached by public transport if you do not have a car.
Visiting hours: every day from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from September to June. The rest of the year from 9:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.
