Day 19 - MUYUNA AMAZON LODGE (the pink Amazon dolphin) - IQUITOS

Today the alarm sounds again when the sun has not yet risen. At 5.30 in the morning we are already awake and ready to go in search of the pink Amazon dolphin, one of the most popular species of the Peruvian Amazon.
At 6.30 we approach the lounge of the Muyuna Lodge for coffee before getting back on the boat that will take us to a more discovered area of ​​the Amazon River where you can find the Amazon pink dolphin.


Fourth day at the Muyuna Lodge

So at 6.30 we are all like nails in the jetty waiting for our boat to start a morning that is quite complete since this excursion lasts until almost 12 noon, practically like the one we did yesterday morning in which we left to See wildlife around the Muyuna with the canoe.

It takes us to reach an area of ​​the river where you can find the Amazonian pink dolphins about 20 minutes and the first thing that René does and another guide that accompanies us is to take out some refrigerators where they have prepared our breakfast.

Now we can also say that we have breakfast in a boat in the middle of the Amazon, while we see, in the distance several pink dolphins of the Amazon preparing to swim with us.

After breakfast, he has had a little rest having coffee in the boat, enjoying the view of the dolphins and how could it be otherwise and more being in an enclave like this, it is time to undress and take a bath. A swim in the Amazon surrounded by pink dolphins !!

A perfect ending not only of these days we have spent in the Peruvian Amazon, but also a special final for the trip to Peru.

It's almost 11 in the morning when we return to the Muyuna Lodge, but not before stopping in an incredible enclave, to be able to see closely the famous Victoria Regina plant, a water lily or water lily, which is the largest of all Water lilies, native to the shallow waters of the Amazon River.

After a while enjoying incredible landscapes, when we already thought we had seen "everything" in the Amazon, it's time to return to the Muyuna Lodge, this time definitely, since our adventure in the Peruvian Amazon it's ending.

We arrive around 12 noon and give us the right time to take a shower and go to the lounge to have our last soda.

At 12:30 we are already eating to make a table with the omnipresent coffee after returning to ride the big boat, which will return us in about 3 hours to Iquitos, the city from which we left for the Amazon 4 days ago .
This already begins to taste at the end of the party.
A few minutes before 2 pm we already have the backpacks loaded and we are embarking on the boat. 3 hours separate us from Iquitos.

Without a doubt, this has been a great experience, taking us from the Muyuna Amazon Lodge and our guide René an unforgettable memory.

We arrive at the port of Iquitos when there are a few minutes to 5 in the afternoon and we come to find a car that distributes us through the hotels we stayed in today, we have the flight to Lima tomorrow, or to the airport according to destination.
When we arrive at La Casona, our hotel in Iquitos, we say goodbye to what our group has been these days knowing that "one day we will see each other again, the world is very small".
Now it's time to rest for a few minutes in the room, remembering the incredible experience we have had these last 4 days in the Amazon and after 6 in the afternoon we go out to dinner and go for a walk under a sky that says goodbye to us with a tearful drizzle.
Today we have dinner at an Italian restaurant next to the hotel and the Plaza de Armas, a pizza, pasta dish, water and soda for 60 soles and before returning to the hotel we go around the boardwalk, full of people, hoping to keep Forever this good vibes that breathe in the environment.
The time has come to go to bed and rest. Tomorrow we will have a most complete day, but this time it is different, we return home.
