WHITE SURPRISE IN CHIANG RAI. THE WAT RONG KHUN TEMPLE

Already last year we were left wanting to go to Chiang Rai and as it is near the border with Laos, we make our last Thai stop there for now. And we do it in the "Ti Amo" guesthouse, although Italian had only the name.

In Chiang Rai in principle there is not much to see, it depends on the intensity with which you live it so that you have a good memory or not. In the morning we approach the “Wat Rong Khun ”or White Temple, built a few years ago with the intention of the artist to turn it into the future in the hallmark of Thailand, as the Eiffel Tower can be from France, or Big Ben from England. And in those he is with his group of 60 artists, without many economic means but with well-loaded morals, it is enough to see the murals inside the temple to prove it (it is a pity that they do not let you photograph them): Goku doing a kamehameha uploaded in the tongue of Buddha, or Doraimon about to be eaten by a three-headed dragon, and so many other fictional characters (StarWars, superheroes ...) mixed with mythological beings or with very buddhas.

On the outside the temple is beautiful, especially in the middle of the morning, with the crystallites reflecting the sunlight until leaving you blind for a few moments after seeing it the first time. There are plenty of descriptions. Just saying that it's shocking, at least it doesn't leave us indifferent.

We spent the night, of course, in the weekend market. But this one had an ambience, Lety took 30 minutes to go for a beer at a Seven Eleven that was 20 meters away, but across the street from the market. We had to sit with two Thai women who gave us a part of their table, since it was all packed, and from there we enjoyed the evening party and the many different dances, although with the same basic music (I don't know how they recognized each melody to start the correct steps ...).

We had a few beers to see if we dared too, but the Thai group seemed so homogeneous, all dancing practically the same choreographies, we didn't want to break that harmony. The custom of dancing is super healthy, many of them had to make some rest to regain strength.

Here we set aside in our journey through Thailand. We will return in a few months but to enjoy the other part of tourism, that is, beaches, small islands, small fish, massages, cocktelitos ... does anyone get excited?
