EATING FOR ... BOLPETTA RESTAURANT (BOLOGNA)

Chubby, round, and very nice: raise your hand to those who don't like meatloaf! We are declared albondigofilos so imagine the face that remained when we discovered that in Bologna there was a place dedicated to them: Bolpetta, name that is born from a successful mix of the words "Bologna" and "Polpetta" (meatloaf in Italian). We could not miss the chance to go and tell you ...

As soon as you arrive, the restaurant will make you fall in love: the place is very beautiful with that vintage touch that is so fashionable and a smell that makes you imagine that from there you will leave very happy! There are first course proposals such as the classic tagliatelle with ragú (and a super meatloaf as a gift), tortellini and ravioli with a “meatloaf” shape and of course, meatballs of every shape and flavor: there are classic ones, such as those that come with peas and Tomato, fried, vegetarian, seasonal ... let's go for all tastes!

We did not know where to start, luckily Sara, who in every second has treated us very kindly, advised us very well: we tried two first and the dish "piovono polpette" which turned out to be a real rain of meatloaf. But we go in parts. The first thing that came was a dish of ravioloni in the form of, of course, meatloaf: the boltellone! The filling was cottage cheese and the tomato and butter sauce, very rich. Mmm!

But as we were in Bologna we could not miss one of the most typical dishes in the area: tortellini with broth. So we tried them and they were also delicious (besides, instead of being called tortellini here are the boltellini!). And don't miss the Parmesan ... how delicious!

And the long-awaited moment arrived: the rain of meatloaf !!!!!! What a piece of dish! Even I, who am a meatloaf eater, got scared: I never saw so many meatballs together ... and how delicious!

There were “principesse sui piselli”, the classic meatloaf with tomato and peas, the “crispy” that were fried and accompanied with potatoes, potato dumplings with mozzarella filling, vegetable pea meatballs with pumpkin sauce, cottage cheese, mushrooms and chicken meatballs with Malta cumino sauce, the ones we personally liked the most ... but all, absolutely all of them were deadly!

We had already had to unfasten all the buttons of the pants because we were transforming into meatballs of so much eating ... but as we always say, it seems that the desserts are going to stop at a VIP stomach, so we could not refuse the offer to try some dessertitos mini. And clearly ... in the form of meatloaf! We tried tiramisu meatloaf, one of dark chocolate with coconut and one of almond paste. As the icing on the cake is said!

Needless to say, we went (almost) rolling. And very happy! Many thanks to Massimo for opening the doors of Bolpetta and Sara and the rest of the staff for taking care of us so well! (and sorry for the bottle! 🙂)
