We receive many messages asking us which is the best island in Thailand ... the truth is that it is difficult to choose, but among those we know we advise Koh Lipe… So the next question is always “Andhow to get to Koh Lipe? ” It depends on where you come from, of course!

If you travel from Bangkok The easiest and fastest would be to fly with one of the low cost companies like Airasia or NokAir untilHat yai (If you buy the ticket to Koh Lipe it usually includes the trip to the Pak Bara or Satun jetty and the ferry that will take you in a couple of hours to the island).

If you want to do by land and free you will have to go down to Trang as we did or even Hat yai which are the "big" cities closest to Koh Lipe. Here you will have to travel to the Pak Bara or Satun piers (we took a combined transport to the port of Pakbara + speed boat to Koh Lipe for 600 Baths) and here buy the ferry to Koh Lipe.

On the Koh Lipe website you can check the ferry schedules. Be aware that in the low season (June-November) there can be only one ferry! We recommend using the 12go.asia website for reservations. Another option, much more comfortable is to book the speed boat online (here, for example). There are 3 daily boats from Satún, at 09.30, at 11.30 and at 13.30. The ticket in July 2019 costs about € 18 (one way). The price is almost the same as 12goasia.
